Mr. Mike Manning

Principal

Dear Future Falcon Parent,

The 19th century Irish poet, William Butler Yeats, famously said that “Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” As the parent of a middle school student, one of the most important things you can wish for your child is that they find the spark that will light the fire of their future success. A lot has changed since the 19th century! Students are now adept at things like Google Classroom, artificial intelligence, and collaborating in virtual environments, but the essence of education remains the same. It's not just about memorizing facts or completing assignments; it’s about inspiring curiosity, fostering creativity, and developing the skills to adapt and thrive in an ever-changing world. As a parent, your role is pivotal in helping your child discover what excites THEM —whether it’s coding, art, sports, or reading —and nurturing that passion as they navigate their educational journey.

One thing I have learned after 25 years of experience in education is that good teaching and learning is rarely rooted in lesson plans, curriculum, textbooks, or technology. It’s born in meaningful connections, fyi real-world experiences, and the dynamic interactions between students and teachers. To that end, you will not find a better opportunity for your son or daughter to find that spark than at Oakcrest High School. With a building that is uniquely steeped in tradition and a staff that is second to none, Oakcrest offers every opportunity for your son or daughter to discover their own excellence.

Oakcrest offers advanced placement (AP) and college level courses, career and technical education electives, and a variety of special education settings that can accommodate every learner. Our highly successful Bio-Medical and Digital Communications magnet programs are designed to prepare students for careers in highly sought-after fields. We offer as many varsity-level sports as the largest high schools in New Jersey, and our performing arts department features state-of-the-art facilities for music, chorus, drama, dance, and media.

We are proud of our diversity at Oakcrest High School. We are proud to be THE high school of the County Seat, Hamilton Township. We are proud of our unique and beautiful building and campus. We are proud of our outstanding staff and their contributions to the community. And most importantly, we are proud of our students and their accomplishments.
